Yorgos
Foudoulis was born in Volos in 1964.
He studied the guitar and theory at the
Philarmonical Conservatory of the Municipality of
Volos.
In 1982 he obtained his Teaching Diploma, with the
distinction grade, unanimusly awarded to him by the
Examing Board.
He continued his studies with K. Kotsiolis at the
New School of Music of Thessaloniki and he obtained
his Soloist Diploma, with the distinction grade, and
the first prize, both unanimusly awarded by the
Examing Board.
He also obtained his post graduate diploma,
Fellowship Diploma of Trinity College London with
the best of reviews.
He attended a number of seminars with famous
composers and guitarists (L. Brouwer, A. Diaz, D.
Russel ect.).
He took part in many Festivals and Intenational
Competitions where he won distinctions and prizes.
In 1984 he was honoured with the Prize of the
Ministry of Culture of Avana, Cuba.
In 1985 he won the 1st Prize in the Competition of
the International Guitar Festival of Volos.
He has given many concerts in Greece as well as
abroad (Germany, Poland, Portugal, Bulgary, Turkey,
Cuba) and he has made recordings for the Greek Radio
Television (ERT).
He has performed works of many famous composers at
first performance and a number of composers have
dedicated their works to him.
From 1989 he has participated as soloist and teacher
in Greek and international Festivals, such as the
Volos International Guitar Festival, International
Festival of Instabul, Zory International Guitar
Festival, Corfu International Guitar Festival,
Hermoupolis International Guitar Festival, Porto
Heli International Festival Art & Culture, Chorton
International Festival, etc.
He has performed, as a soloist, in a variety of
ensembles, with the Symphonic Orchestra of the BACH
Conservatory of Moscow, the Symphonic Orchestra of
Larisa as well as in small ensembles of chamber
music.
He participated in the activities "Youth for the
Arts", that were organized by the "Organization for
the Cultural Capital of Europe, Thessaloniki 1997".
He has composed guitar soloist music, chamber music,
music for theater etc.
He has also written a number of books about the
guitar teaching method.
He is the director of the Examination Center of
Trinity College London and Century University in
Volos, and Foudoulis' Conservatory.
He is also artistic director in the Winter Guitar
Festival of Volos and Porto Heli International
Guitar Festival.
